WHAT IS ONYX?

This is a semiprecious layered rock, consisting mainly of calcite or aragonite. Onyx is available in shades of white, yellow, brown, green, and even black. Due to its fine-grained, coherent structure, it can be mirror finished. Worth mentioning is its light permeability, which used in a decorative way perfectly influences the interior aesthetics. Most frequently onyx is used to manufacture partitions, wall cladding, furniture, decorative elements, fireplace cladding, bathroom worktops and sinks. It is an expensive stone, considered a luxurious finishing material which ideally emphasises the prestige of the design. It is not advisable to use onyx for flooring and kitchen worktops.
